Jennifer Pascale is preparing to compete in a triathlon with her husband and brother, but what sets her apart from most participants is that she survived a battle with triple-negative breast cancer, Naples News
Triple-negative breast cancer is one of the most aggressive forms of the disease, but that did not prevent the 39-year-old wife and mother from remaining determined to beat the illness.
"I never, ever asked, why me? I thought to myself, when life hands you bad situations, instead of why me, it's try me," she told the news provider.
She underwent a lumpectomy followed by chemotherapy and radiation treatment, and credits her family, friends and the Naples community for helping her remain positive throughout her ordeal.
Pascale has also competed in her first triathlon in June of this year and has been going through rigorous training for her next one in September.
The Triple-Negative Breast Cancer Foundation has been actively raising awareness about this rare form of cancer and encouraging more research into finding a cure.
